Can Dogs Eat Avocado?

Short answer: it is better not to. Avocado contains persin, which is dangerous to birds, rabbits and horses but usually causes only stomach upset in dogs. The real risks for dogs are the large pit, which can block the gut, and the high fat, which can trigger pancreatitis. Guacamole is a definite no.
